As expected, Ludivine was at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival to promote her film “Crime d’amour” (“Love Crime”.) There are only a small handful of photos, but you can view them in the gallery.

As previously mentioned, Ludivine also has some wonderful new appearances in magazines! I’ve added scans from one of them, a beautiful 6-page spread in Paris Match, to the gallery. Thank you to Marine for these scans! More coming soon!

Finally, on a more somber note, two directors Ludivine has worked under have recently passed away. Alain Corneau, director of recently released “Crime d’amour,” passed after a long battle with cancer a little over a week after his final film was released in theaters. Claude Chabrol, one of the pioneers of the French new wave and director of Ludivine’s “La Fille coupée en deux,” died today at age 80. Both have left behind a fine body of work, and I’m proud that Ludivine was able to feature in them.

Wonderful news! Ludivine’s film “Pieds nus sur les limaces,” presented as part of the Director’s Fortnight, has received the sidebar’s top prize, the Art Cinema Award. Along with a string of good reviews by both French and international press, it looks like the film has a bright future ahead of it.

Berthaud’s “Limaces” Leads Director’s Fortnight Winners
Fabienne Berthaud’s “Pieds nus sur les limaces” (Lily Sometimes) led the winners of the Director’s Fortnight section of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. Announced tonight in Cannes, Berthaud’s film – which closed the program – won the program’s Art Cinema Award, which was given by an international jury of independent cinema programmers. Starring Diane Kruger and Ludivine Sagnier as sisters coping with the death of their mother, the film is Berthaud’s second feature after 2005’s “Frankie.”

Well, sort of. Ludivine’s upcoming film “Pieds nus sur les limaces” AKA “Lily Sometimes”, co-starring Diane Kruger, has been selected to close the Director’s Fortnight, a parallel independent section at the Cannes Film Festival. The premiere will be a red carpet event, so fingers crossed that Ludivine will be able to attend and that we’ll also see her out and about on the Croisette before then!

Ludivine finally has a new magazine feature! She’s in the latest issue of French fashion magazine Numéro, where she talks about her year out of the spotlight and her return to cinema. You can read a little bit about the article below, but I hope to have scans of Numéro itself soon!

The August release date of “Crime d’amour” was released a while ago, and now Commeaucinema.com is reporting a release date for Ludivine’s other film shot in 2009, “Pieds nus sur les limaces” co-starring Diane Kruger. Unfortunately, the film isn’t slated for release until all the way in November of this year! Still, with Ludivine confirmed for “The Devil’s Double”, news shouldn’t be too slow waiting for her next appearances on the big screen.

This is a pleasant surprise! We have our first pictures of Ludivine in 2010. Photos took a couple days after the event itself to hit the internet, but Ludivine was at the Sidaction Fashion Dinner for AIDS alongside several other French actresses. She opted for a classic, quasi-retro look complete with red lipstick and is still sporting her strawberry blonde hair from the end of last year.

Also, “Crime d’amour” has an official release date: August 18th, 2010. It’s a long wait, but at least we know! No word on “Pieds nus sur les limaces” yet.

The bad news: Ludivine has officially been taken off the cast list for “Potiche”, so it may still be a while before we see her work with François Ozon again. The good news: it looks like she’s confirmed for “The Devil’s Double”, which we first heard about back in November. If the film is sticking to the planned filming schedule of beginning in January, she should be in Malta right now! All I know so far is that her role is “Sarrab”.

According to ioncinema.com, Ludivine may have been replaced in François Ozon’s “Potiche” by Karin Viard. If it’s true, that is a definitely a disappointment, but other places on the web list Ludivine in the cast alongside Karin. Shooting doesn’t wrap until the end of January, however, and the film is scheduled for a November 10, 2010 release, so it may be a little while before it’s confirmed either way.
